The Ryder Cup 2021

The Ryder Cup is one of golf’s great tournaments, biennially bringing together 12-member teams from the U.S. and Europe for a three-day worldwide stage. During each of the first two days, a four-ball session as well as a foursome session are played. On the final day of the match, 12 singles matches are played.

A victory in each match is worth a single point. Any matches that end in a tie or draw is worth ½ point for each side. The team that is first to win 14 ½ points over the course of the three days wins the Ryder Cup. In the event the Ryder Cup should end in a tie, the team who has previously won the match retains the Ryder Cup trophy. The Europeans were the last to win the Ryder Cup in 2018 at Le Golf National.

Spanning 91 years and now 42 competitions, the Ryder Cup also is among the last great professional sporting events where winning, and not prize money, is the reward.

The Course

Sculpted into the Wisconsin coastline, the Straits is a throwback to the raw freshness of Ireland. Home to major championships and the 43rd Ryder Cup, the Straits, is defined by the open, rugged and windswept terrain defines the walking-only, links-style Straits course sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. A masterpiece in the world of golf created by Pete Dye.
